Before we start

The Elbe slopes, Elbhänge in German, can be explored in many different ways; after all, they run alongside the river for more than twelve kilometers and, after an initial ascent in the Radeberg suburb, only slowly flatten out again in Oberpoyritz. On the other side of the Elbe, where the „Blue Wonder“ bridge (Blaues Wunder) has been laying its structure over the river for more than a hundred years, you have the best view: from three beautiful palaces on the left to Wachwitz and its villas on the right. Let's begin our walk on that square in front of the bridge, named after Schiller and not even part of Dresden when it was built.
